In an attempt to accommodate advertisers as well as to further compete with Vine, Instagram now offers looping videos that ensure the content gets as many eyeballs as possible. Although not necessarily a user friendly update since it will inevitably eat up more data since it is part of the default setting, the looping videos is a smart move in that it bridges the gap between consumer and company in as natural a way as possible.
After all, the looping videos are one of only a few ways in which Instagram has thus far introduced sponsored posts to its users. Careful not to alienate its loyal users, the looping videos will most likely be used sparingly as well as be carefully curated as the existing sponsored posts are.
