The Divine App Revives Six-Second Loop Video Sharing

— November 15, 2025 — Tech
The Divine app has been created by former Twitter employee Evan Henshaw-Plath (AKA Rabble) with backing from the and Other Stuff nonprofit headed by Jack Dorsey as a nostalgic social media experience.

The app is inspired by the defunct Vine social media platform and follows in its footsteps with six-second loop-style videos. The app even includes a portion of the Vine archive that was created before being completely shut down in 2017. The app will thus provide users with a nostalgic user experience that revives old content, while also encouraging them to create new six-second videos for sharing with friends.

The Divine app is, according to the creators via the Authenticity section on its website, focused on creating authentic content that combats against entirely artificial intelligence (AI) generated content.

  1. Nostalgia-driven Content — Leveraging nostalgic elements creates opportunities for platforms to engage users by reviving beloved past experiences like six-second videos.
  2. Micro-content Revival — The revival of short-form loop videos signals a resurgence in demand for bite-sized, easily consumable content.
  3. Authenticity Over AI — Platforms focusing on genuine human-created content are challenging the proliferation of AI-generated media.

Industry Implications

  1. Social Media Platforms — New and similar platforms may attract users by embracing the charm of past favorite formats like the Vine-style loops.
  2. Video Sharing Apps — The resurrection of concise video-sharing experiences presents a fresh avenue for disruption and user engagement.
  3. Digital Content Creation — Shift towards emphasizing authentic content offers new opportunities for creative expression beyond AI-driven outputs.
