Stealing wheels and tires off a vehicle is a common occurrence that automaker Ford aims to help curb by utilizing all-new 3D-printing locking wheel nuts that are custom-made for each individual owner. Developed in partnership with EOS, the wheel nuts are achieved using a specific biometric marker that could include a voiceprint or specific shape. This would render the wheels unable to be removed without the accompanying key in order to immediately thwart thieves who might try to take off with the wheels.
The Ford 3D-printing locking wheel nuts are designed with the utmost attention to security in mind and are also created to prevent a wax model of them from being taken by thieves.
