Next Games, a Finish game developer and publisher known for 'The Walking Dead' Games, recently announced a partnership with Netflix for a location-based RPG puzzle game. The mobile game will be for the TV show 'Stranger Things' and is set to be released in 2020 on iOS and Android platforms.
CEO of Next Games, Teemu Huuhtanen, stated: "Our core focus will be to deliver on Stranger Things’ rich and intense themes like friendship and supernatural adventure, and translate these into snack-sized entertainment on your mobile device." The mobile game will be in a retro-cartoon style and users can use location-based technology to play. The mobile game will integrate Google Maps for fans to explore "The Upside Down" that is concealed around them.
This location-based RPG puzzle game will likely be enjoyed by fans of Pokemon Go, which uses similar real-world integration.
