Twitch ad Entercom, the owner of Radio.com, recently entered into an agreement where Twitch will host live video streams for Radio.com. The live video streams will covert sports, also come with a branded Twitch channel. The new shows on the gaming platform will include WFAN, located in New York, WEEI, located in Boston, and The Score, located in Chicago. The shows will cover each cities respective baseball teams and highlight ‘hometown heroes.
The branded channels will create a new platform for fans to interact with the radio hosts, through features like Twitch chat. For Entercom, the agreement creates a new platform to showcase content, and for Twitch the agreement will bring more sports content to the platform.
Jane Weedon, a Twitch employee, spoke about the agreement, “With the addition of sports radio, on-air talent and fans will be able to interact and discuss [...] with one another in real-time.”
