Pop Art Retrospective Exhibitions

The Roy Lichtenstein: Like New is an Art Exhibition

Roy Lichtenstein: Like New is an art exhibition opening at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York on October 11. Featuring more than 130 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, films, collages, and installations, the retrospective surveys the Pop artist's career from early works to some of his most recognizable images. Curated by Meg Onli, Alex Da Corte, Nakai Falcón, and David Crane, the exhibition examines Lichtenstein's engagement with perception, commercial imagery, and appropriation through a contemporary perspective.

Highlights include the complete eight-piece Pop series originally shown at Leo Castelli Gallery in 1962, recreations of three large-scale murals, and iconic works such as Look Mickey, Drowning Girl, and Masterpiece. The exhibition also places Lichtenstein's practice in dialogue with artists including Louise Lawler, Richard Pettibone, and Sturtevant.
