Bright Floating Textile Installations

The Dream House is a Participatory Textile Installation

The Dream House is a participatory textile installation by Seoul-born artist Jisoo Yoo, presented at (F)ESTIVALES at Les Tanneries, Centre d'art contemporain in France. The artwork invites participants to contribute a garment marked with handwritten messages and drawings, transforming personal clothing into structural elements of a suspended house. Each donated textile becomes part of the floating composition, creating an installation that combines individual memories with a shared architectural form. Rather than using conventional building materials, the work assembles garments into a lightweight structure that explores themes of home, community, and collective participation through everyday objects.

The installation continues Yoo's practice of examining domestic spaces through temporary and immersive environments that blur the boundaries between architecture, memory, and personal experience. By incorporating contributions from multiple participants, the artwork evolves into a collaborative structure shaped by individual expressions and shared narratives.
