Italian-Informed Loft Extensions

OEB Architects Adds Extension to the Lewisham Loggias

London-based design firm OEB Architects has completed the structure of the Lewisham Loggias, which is a bright loft extension that is inspired by Italian palazzos and art works. The design project adds an additional floor to the home in South London and it is for a couple Isabel and Jaime who are accommodating their growing family.

Eland and Baird stated the design by asking their clients to create a mood board comprised of art, objects, details, and more. Eland noted to Dezeen, "One of the most exciting parts of our job is to see how these references can combine with the more functional aspects of a brief. Isabel and Jamie responded really well to this task, preparing a rich collection of references including memories of holidays, times with family, art they liked and little details on the house they enjoyed."
