Sixty-mile-an-hour winds propelled Crathern's kite skyward and allowed him to clear the 50-foot structure with room to spare. A video of the stunt received more than 44,000 views in less than 72 hours after being posted on YouTube.
Lewis Crathern is a Sussex-based kite surfer who is also a double British kite surfing champion. He cautioned others not to attempt the stunt themselves.
