These new LED clay light accents give a different twist to traditional rope lighting. They were created by Dutch designers Maarten Baas and Bertjan Pot. The idea sprouted from their desire to collaborate; instead of creating a totally new idea, they combined their existing talents. While Pot was experienced with the LED lights, Baas was familiar with clay.
They mixed the two ideas together by randomly placing LED lights on the perimeter of almost any household furniture piece. The result gives a free-spirited vibe and captures a circus-like essence embodied in each piece of their collection. From tables, laps, vanities and hanging fixtures, they're all slightly different.
The collection was viewed during the Milan design week this past month. Produced by Den Herder Production (DHPH), the undefined placement of each LED clay light makes every object and furniture piece one-of-a-kind. Photo Credits: designboom, dhph
