LED String Light Systems

David Derksen Designs the Spline Light for Petite Friture

Designer David Derksen creates the Spline lighting system for Petite Friture. It is an LED string light that functions indoors and outdoors. The Spline is a modern take on the classic string lights, brightening dinners all around the world. Spline is inspired by the lines of ship ropes. Derksen designed Spline to offer elements of structure and flexibility, integrating the illuminating technology using a fastening system inspired by the natural undulation of rolling waves.

The lights are defined by their geometric curves which are inspired by organic movement and math. This enhances the modular nature and allows users to shape the light's form to better suit their changing spaces. The Spline components are secured to a dual tonal cord, which comes in brown and orange or beige and blue.
