Leaf Jerky launched at this year's Natural Products Expo East, introducing a brand-new plant-based meat snack alternative that's conveniently packaged for on-the-go consumption. The idea for the product began with the desire to create a vegan snack that could be shared with meat eaters with a focus on health and eco-friendly values. According to Leaf Jerky founder Amy Shouldice, "Leaf Jerky is an easy, familiar, ready-to-savor option for vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians alike."
The soy-based jerky snack uses less natural resources to produce than conventional jerky products and is sold in single-serve portions that share 11 grams of plant-based protein. At launch, Leaf Jerky is available in a Cracked Pepper and Herb flavor, although more flavors are expected to be introduced soon.
