Art can encapsulate a million and one feelings and thoughts, a truth that Lauren Gallaspy embraces in her work. She creates a series of abstract sculptures that embody the idea of vulnerable imbalance -- a thing that people must come to terms with on a daily basis. Lauren Gallaspy explains that "the things that I love and the things that I fear refuse to balance out. They scrap like cats, cloak and conceal like kudzu, terrify and delight, like a large, shaky lake or a dog swimming hard towards a floating ball."

Violent, pleasurable and complete complex, Lauren Gallaspy's sculpture will take over the mind as it struggles to make sense of each form and line.
