This Hybrid Space Allows You to Enjoy a Latte as You Do Your Laundry

— October 16, 2014 — Art & Design
This Laundromat Cafe makes laundry less of a chore and more of an outing.

When Montreal-based entrepreneur Chaz Desousa had an idea to open a vintage laundromat, he knew he didn't want to go at it alone. He teamed up with Jesse Lewin, owner of Cafe L'artist, to create a hybrid space.

The laundromat, named 'Le Petit Bas Perdu,' features oversize washing machines and dryers, lounging sofas and loveseats as well as funky vending machines that dispense cute socks -- just in case the dryer monster strikes again. Customers can enjoy a latte, lemonade or snack as they wait for their clothes to wash and dry. What was once a tedious chore now becomes an enjoyable activity, thanks to some creative decorating and sweet treats.
