High-Efficiency LLM Models

SpaceXAI Grok 4.5 Is an Opus-Class Large Language Model

SpaceXAI launched Grok 4.5, a new large language model designed to handle coding, office tasks, research and writing while improving token efficiency. Released several weeks after the company's public offering, the model follows a beta testing period and is positioned as a faster, lower-cost option for routine knowledge work.

SpaceXAI says Grok 4.5 delivers roughly twice the token efficiency of leading competing models, with pricing set at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. The company also published benchmark results comparing the model with other leading AI systems, while founder Elon Musk described Grok 4.5 as an "Opus-class" model, citing its combination of speed, capability and lower operating costs.

For developers and businesses, Grok 4.5 could reduce the cost of deploying AI for high-volume workloads while maintaining competitive performance. The launch reflects the growing focus on improving efficiency and affordability as AI companies compete on both capability and operating costs.
