Lane Crawford Teams with Eight Designers to Redesign Ming Chair

For its 160th anniversary, Hong Kong department store Lane Crawford has decided to revamp a classic part of Chinese history.

The Ming chair is a traditionally designed chair that is a rich part of Chinese culture. As a chic, modern staple within current Hong Kong culture, Lane Crawford decided to add new flavor to the chair. With the help of eight designers, Lane Crawford has compiled a list of intricate Ming chair variants. Some boast hand-carved designs, while others are carefully painted. The project, dubbed 'Dynasty Revival,' is open to the public in Hong Kong's IFC Mall.
