The Lacoste Steel Racquet Collection is Inspired by Tennis Equipment
Lauren Archer — August 4, 2010 — Fashion
Lacoste has released Lacoste Steel Racquet Collection of four heritage sneakers inspired by the steel tennis racquet invented by René Lacoste himself in 1963.
All four styles feature a mixture of metallic fabrics in leather, mesh or reflective material and are contrasted by brown leather details that replicate the handle of the racquet.

Implications - In the last few years, streetwear and sneaker culture have emerged from underground subcultures to dignified purchasing block. Companies can capitalize on this movement by investing in products that directly appeal to these style-conscious consumers. They can do so by creating products that feature avant-garde designs, bright colors, and are a radical departure from the products sold at chain stores.
