Thatched African Hotels

At first glance, the Kyambura Lodge may look like a traditional thatch roof home. Yet it simply maintains a nostalgic hold on the past while providing all the comforts of modern society to guests of the hotel. Since the Kyambura Lodge is located in the heart of Africa in Uganda, it is only natural that travellers would want to experience as authentic a side of the country they can without sparing any luxuries while at it. The studio behind it writes, "Drawing inspiration from the innovation of ‘every day’ Africa, Kyambura Lodge celebrates the abundance, vibrancy and resourcefulness of ‘up-cycled’ design."

Designed by Regional Associates, the Kyambura Lodge is surrounded by a stunning gorge. It embraces its natural setting being being made predominantly out of wood, which have been sourced from existing buildings.
