Tatu Laakso is an up-and-coming Finnish designer who's latest project, 'Kvan Furniture,' aims to use a small space with maximum efficiency.
With two pieces currently released, her work is minimalistic and efficient. Each piece was designed to be multifunctional and adaptable to the user's needs. The first piece is multifunctional clothing rack meant for a rotation of everyday clothes. With a built-in, removable laundry rack, this piece serves as the place where clothes are taken on and off to avoid piles of clothes around one's home. The second piece is a night table with a removable tech tray.
As the global population continues to grow, more Millennial and Gen Z consumers are choosing to live in small spaces. Because of this, creative design solutions are needed to fulfill this demographic's needs. Pieces like those in the Kvan furniture line will appeal to younger consumers, thanks to their simplicity and adaptability.
