Perforated Kitchen Chairs

This Minimalist Chair is Designed to Resemble a Kitchen Colander

Patrick Norguet recently designed a beautiful chair that draws inspiration from the classic kitchen colander. While most of us use a colander on a daily basis, we rarely think about the history or the functionality of the item. Norguet's latest piece uses the interesting design of the colander to create a beautiful kitchen chair.

The 'Colander Chair' is a functional piece of furniture designed for the Italian company 'Kristalia.' Norguet's inspiration for the chair comes from the Italian tradition of draining pasta through a colander. As a result, the chair features a perforated seat and back that mimics the pattern found on any conventional kitchen colander. The punched holes are not only decorative, but they also serve a functional purpose. The holes allow the chair to be used outside because any rain will simply pass through.

The Colander Chair is currently available in a number of different colors, including black, white and red.
