The Joya x Backrooms Candle translates the unsettling atmosphere of the horror property into a handcrafted home fragrance created in collaboration with A24 and New York candle studio Joya. Poured in yellow soy wax, the candle is housed in a glass vessel printed with the Backrooms' signature yellow wallpaper pattern, referencing the eerie, fluorescent-lit interiors that define the franchise. The design draws directly from the property's distinctive visual identity while presenting it as a decorative home object.
Developed as a conceptual scent experience, the fragrance features notes described as metallic hiss, ash, humidity, sweetness, electrical overload, and signal deformation to evoke the unsettling environment of the Backrooms. Handmade in New York, the candle offers an estimated burn time of approximately 50 hours, while a companion Scent Kit further expands the collection with additional fragrance elements inspired by the fictional world.
