Most print ads are not able to communicate the quality of sound and rely solely on visuals to express the qualities of products like the noice-canceling JBL headphones. In order to give consumers a sense of the peace that comes from putting on the audio accessory, the Cheil Hong Kong creative agency launched an expressive set of visual advertisements.
The 'Block Out the Chaos' advertisements are styled in a way that there is a headphone-shaped whitespace left between the listener and disruptive external noises. In the series, there are people who appear tranquil amidst screaming infants and noisy dogs.
The dynamic Block out the Chaos print advertising campaign for JBL headphones has been awarded two bronze Lions at this year's Cannes Festival in the Outdoor and Print and Publishing categories.
