Translucent Minimalist Soaps

Jasper Morrison's 'Soap' is a Purely Functional Body Wash

Despite what Big Body Wash might have consumers believe, soap is simple, and acclaimed British designer Jasper Morrison's 'Soap' reflects the pure purpose behind the hygiene product. Decorated with nothing but the word "soap" in bas-relief, the translucent glycerin bars are equally austere in terms of ingredients, being completely free of pigment and fragrance.

Jasper Morrison's 'Soap' bars are sold by 'Good Thing', a Brooklyn design studio. They come in packages of four with the bars connected to one another in a solid brick. This further reflects the simplicity of Soap's production process. These minimalist decisions stem from the "belief that this elemental and historically rich tool should be elementary in nature — it should do what it's supposed to do, do it well, and do it without anything unnecessary" according to Jamie Wolfond, the founder of Good Thing.
