Dutch Artist Combines Art & Fashion

— February 25, 2008 — Tech
I adore Desiree Palmen's incredible pictures of scenes consisting of people in invisible outfits".

The 44 year old artist creates these works of art by photographing a scene, then copying this in pain staking detail painting onto a cotton suit which is then cleverly positioned in frame and another photograph taken. I think the pictures say it all.

Implications - In a world where social media allows for our friends to constantly tag us in photographs, it’s a unique sight to see an image in which a person is made to seem almost invisible. It goes to show that in a society with consumers who are so connected to each other, there is a desire for some to just disappear.
