Hus 1 is a new chicken coop that looks posh enough to house people. Hus 1 was built by Swedish architect and designer Torsten Ottesjö. The unique structure is meant to mimic the look of a mother hen protecting her young with her wing. The structure is made out of wood, sitting on a steel framework drilled into the rock below. The coop sits on the west coast of Sweden, offering its winged residents an unobstructed view of the sea.

In addition to mimicking the look of a hen, the coop also mimics natural lighting conditions. The house has a lighting system that automatically adjusts to how much sunlight is outdoors. The design of the coop and its technology is ultra-modern, reflecting the new standards of housing livestock set by designers and farmers.
