Khanna Schultz Designs the House for a Collector Project

— February 11, 2025 — Art & Design
Khanna Schultz designed the House for a Collector project which is nestled in Birmingham, Michigan, a suburban neighborhood in the north of Detroit. The project is meant to accommodate a collector with a passion for rare Porsches and whiskeys. The structure of the home strays away from conforming to the notions of a monolithic suburban residence.

The architect's sections of the house into a series of volumes interconnected to one another. It is arranged around a courtyard in the middle to form a symmetrical feeling. This also mitigates the visual roots of a single large building to foster a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The courtyard also serves the purpose of the main focal point.
