Aurora Arquitectos Turns a Family Home into a Space for Travelers

In partnership with Furo, Aurora Arquitectos creates a playfully colorful and homey hostel in a high-traffic area in Cascais – a coastal town in Portugal. The spacious building is acquired by a local entrepreneur who hopes to establish a network of hostels in the country.

Local architecture firm Aurora Arquitectos gives the interior a strong contemporary aesthetic that is extremely engaging by way of the vibrant and eye-catching hues. The studio works on restoring the framework of the building and creating a highly flexible layout for the purposes of the homey hostel. Arranged across three floors, there is a total of nine rooms that boast white walls and polished floors. All the design features of the homey hostel’s interior are united through the whimsical and cheery yellow staircase.
