Mi Ju's Psychedelic Paintings Reflect All of Her Influences

A South Korea-based artist Mi Ju created a collection of intricate and colorful psychedelic paintings. The permeated imaging in the paintings are completely inspired by the artist's childhood and hometown experiences.

Having studies art all over the world, in places such as Australia and the US, Ju felt the urge to incorporate her roots -- presumably to stay true to herself and her culture. While the images appear to be a hodgepodge of colors and images, viewers will notice that they are extremely intricate and meticulously crafted upon a closer look.

Each painting is vibrant and features her personal influences with foods, animals, cartoon portraits of people and architecture. The way she combines them all makes the paintings resemble giant creatures emerging from their canvases.
