The HMD X1 smartphone has been shown off by the brand at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2025 as a teen-targeted mobile device that's created with a balanced functionality in mind.

The smartphone puts a privacy-first focus in the spotlight with no TikTok or Instagram pre-installed upon purchase with parents able to remotely manage app access as well as screen time and web browsing in the Xplora app. The smartphone also features location tracking with safe zone settings, school mode, emergency SOS mode and more.

The HMD X1 smartphone is equipped with a 108MP lens along with a 5,000mAh battery to enable multiple days of use, depending on usage. The mobile device also features the swappable Outfits that will let users customize the device to their preference.
