Snacking Legislation Retailer Guides

Walkers Created a Digital HFSS Guide to Aid Retailers

The HFSS (high in fat, salt and sugar) legislation will come into effect in England in October, so Walkers has created this HFSS guide as a way to support retailers as the market adapts to the changes. The guide is focused on helping retailers better understand how they can expect to be impacted by the legislation and includes information on how Walkers will help to maximize snacking sales. The guide also includes category strategies and, in addition to English, will come in Punjabi and Hindi to maximize inclusivity.

Impulse Category Management Channel Lead for PepsiCo UK Kirsten Reid commented on the HFSS guide to Talking Retail saying, "We did some research about a year ago and found that around 40% of retailers where either not aware or couldn’t really follow the guidance. They were looking for support from either wholesalers or suppliers, so we thought we’d try to step up to that challenge."
