Norwegian architecture studio Handegård Arkitektur designs the new Bathhouse, which is a bright red cabin that rests along the seafront. The cabin rests on top of stacks of granite to elevate the home over the water to create the impression that it is floating in the air.
The inspiration behind the design language of the Bathhouse stems from traditional Norwegian boathouses, which is highlighted by their red color on the outside. The studio uses a range of modern materials and methods to create a lively cabin. It was built for a client that lives by the coat and was seeking a modern version of a traditional boathouse. It has a rin roof and the living area has. a second layer of timber planks.
