Lyft Will Offer Half-Priced Rides During the 2018 Midterm Elections

In an effort to draw more voters out to the US midterm elections, Lyft will be providing half-priced rides during the election dates. Riders simply need to enter location-based codes into the Lyft app to access the half-priced rides, with the codes being offered by Vote.org and TurboVote. Lyft hopes that this offer will draw more voters out during the elections as 35% of youth who didn't go to college cited lack of transportation as a reason for not voting in 2016.
Along with offering half-priced rides, Lyft will also offer free rides to people from underserved communities. These rides will be provided in partnership with nonpartisan, nonprofit partners like Voto Latino to ensure these voices are heard and not stifled due to lack of transportation.
