Designer Philippe Malouin's stunning Gridlock Lighting design is created for New York-based lighting manufacturer Roll & Hill. The hanging light fixture is structurally raw and embodies an industrial style aesthetic that is fits with the retailer's line of high-end pieces.
Inspired by brutalist architecture, Philippe Malouin formed the light's frame with a repetitive grid of cubed shapes. His Gridlock Lighting piece was crafted out of thousands of tiny brass elements that gleam thanks to their gilded finish.
The Canadian-born and London-based designer is a graduate from the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands and has previously worked with famed designer Tom Dixon. After launching his own studio in 2009, the creative talent is continuously making waves with his intricately crafted and aesthetically elegant pieces.
