Savory Pastry-Honoring Tapestries

Greggs 'Ta-Pastry' Celebrates National Sausage Roll Day

Greggs 'Ta-Pastry' has been commissioned by the brand in celebration of National Sausage Roll Day as a way to commemorate some of the most memorable facts about the savory pastry.

The tapestry was created in collaboration with Hawthorne & Heaney, known for their expertise in embroidery, and features more than five-million stitches with thread colors that subtly nod to the Greggs brand. The artwork mimics the Bayeux Tapestry's narrative style and addressees its return to the UK, which will take place later this year when it goes on display at the British Museum.

Greggs 'Ta-Pastry' is divided into six chapters that each illustrate a medieval-style of storytelling from the brand's history. The artwork will be on display at the Design Museum on Kensington High Street in London on Friday, June 5 and Saturday June 6, 2026 from 10am to 6pm.
