'Grasshopper' Teaches Users to Write Javascript

Coding used to be a skill that only an interested few took the time to master, but it's becoming an increasingly important ability for people in a wide array of fields, and the Grasshopper app is a new tool that helps people to gain some computer science knowledge. The app, which was released as a Google product, uses simple lessons to teach people the bare bones of Javascript, equipping them with the tools they need to move into more advanced learning through boot camps or online classes.
Grasshopper, which is named after computer pioneer Grace Hopper, is dedicated to teaching the basics of Javascript, though many of the lessons are high-level enough to apply to coding altogether. This includes learning about functions, variables, strings, for loops, arrays, conditionals, operators, and objects.
Grasshopper was developed in Google's Area 120, the company's in-house business incubator. The program has released products like Advr, an advertising format for VR, and Tailor, a personal stylist.
