In an effort to provide its customers with more nutritious options, Chick-fil-A has begun testing two veggie-heavy grain bowls. While these bowls still feature the chain's famous chicken, the meat merely serves as a complement to superfoods such as kale, quinoa and chia seeds.
Chick-fil-A's new better-for-you options consist of the Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl and Egg White Grill Grain Bowl. The former consists of quinoa and farro blended with vegetables, roasted nuts, dried cherries, chicken and a goat cheese-feta blend. The later features a similar quinoa and farro blend with scrambled egg whites, cheddar cheese and chicken. The new dishes are currently being tested at locations in California, Florida and Alabama, with a possible nation-wide roll-out set for 2018.
The new grain bowls cater to the growing demand for healthier menu items at fast food chains.
