Google Trends has been a convenient way for any user to effectively take the temperature of the internet, and in light of the company's recent spate of redesigns, the analytics page is the latest to get gussied up. The web page has been outfitted with several new features and designs to make it easier to parse for the average user.
In the earlier version of Google Trends, the platform was prescriptive. It told users what was trending in Google searches, and it left it at that. Now, the page has a search bar at the very top that encourages people to look up the terms that they're interested in, and it shows trends surrounding those terms.
That said, the platform also includes stories that have been curated by Google's News Lab team, so users get a multi-pronged approach.
