Google Coach may be the next big fitness product for the tech giant, but a recent update on Google Fit shows how committed the brand is about fitness. First launched as a health-tracking app in 2014, this new update is more than a simple redesign and introduces two new activity goals: Move Minutes and Heart Points. These new activities on Google Fit were designed in conjunction with the American Heart Association (AHA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure the activities keep users healthy.
Move Minutes keeps track of the time spent physically active and are garnered with any sort of physical activity. Heart Points is the more targeted of the two and tracks more physically intense workouts. Aside from these two new activities the Google Fit update also functions more proactively and pushes users to earn points throughout the day.
