Sculpturally futuristic, the Golden Eye Tram Station looks like a partly dissembled spaceship that has been upcycled for earthbound purposes. In this case, public transportation. The circular shape coupled with the bright lights outlining its perimeter is what gives this fantastical impression. Not to mention the geometric sunroof adding a beautiful design element to the entire design as a whole.
Created by Zechner & Zechner ZTGmbH for Holding Graz Linien, the Golden Eye Tram Station was created as another urban transportation hub to help alleviate traffic. On a more surface level, it was created to enhance the attractiveness of the large square it took over. The architectural firm certainly succeeded in that department by designing a sleek silhouette and sci-fi aesthetic. It cost 90 million euros to build.
