Director Steven Soderbergh recently turned Twitter into a bookstore when he released his Glue Twitter novella. 'Glue' is a suspense novel that was released solely via the director's Twitter handle, @Bitchuation. The book consists of 11 chapters and took a total of four days to release.
The Glue Twitter novella was released using both twitpics and regular tweets. As you would expect, 140 characters isn't enough space for an entire novella. The chapters of the Twitter book are short and average a handful of tweets, making the book easy to read. Here's hoping that Soderbergh inspires other creatives and writers to release free books over Twitter. After all, the only thing separating the next great novelist from the world could be 140 characters.
