This giant bouquet was sent out into the ocean waves as part of Azuma Makoto's 'In Bloom' project, which, so far, has sent bonsai trees to space and suspended sculptural floral arrangements inside massive ice cubes.
The 13-foot giant bouquet was made up of 10,000 heliconia flowers and 100 banana leaves. Azuma Makoto and his team rowed the supplies for the giant bouquet far out into the Hinoba-an Sea, off the coast of the Philippines. Then, they constructed the artistic giant bouquet in the water. The images of the creation process are almost as stunning as the finished product itself. The giant bouquet floated at sea while Makoto captured it for the In Bloom photo project. The images of the sun setting behind the towering floral structure are breathtaking.
