Apple is Fighting the Gender Pay Gap and Employing More Minorities

Apple recently announced that it has succeeded in erasing the gender pay gap amongst its employees in the United States.

As Engadget reports, the company is now working to ensure that it does the same on a global scale, with Apple explaining the gender pay gap venture by stating "We're now analyzing the salaries, bonuses, and annual stock grants of all our employees worldwide" and "If a gap exists, we'll address it. And we'll continue our work to make sure we maintain pay equity."

In addition to taking steps to ensure that female employees are paid the same as men for doing similar work, the company is working to hire more people who identify as minorities, with 54 percent of its new employees coming from non-Caucasian descent.
