Would you hike up stormy, icy mountain tops for a music festival? To celebrate the first full moon of every year, the Geilo Ice Festival takes places in the mountains of Southern Norway. It's an extremely unique festival which literally unites incredible music with artistic ice sculptures.
Ice is carefully selected and later sculpted into instruments which are actually played during the annual festival. The reward of making the trek up the blistering cold Norwegian mountains is more than just being entertained by art and music; it's about celebrating nature and praising the element of water, in this case in its frozen form.
