Uber Geeky Troubadours

Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele: He's Nerdy, But Talented

Dazed Digital and various blogs and news sites are already buzzing about Dent May and his Magnificent Ukulele. Watch out for this low-fi singer/songwriter who looks like a cross between Elton John and a blond Harry Potter.

His album ‘The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele’ will hit the music scene on February 2009. By the look of the press and media reactions May has already received, it will probably be a high flier.

I find his super geeky styling quite intriguing in the sense of it looking unpretentious, although a lot of thought and styling preparations must have gone into this look.

Dent May sounds like a modern-day 40s Vaudeville troubadour with influences of Serge Gainsbourg and Lee Hazlewood with a bit of barbershop quartet thrown in for good measure. Check his single out below.
