Chicago-based artist Julian Victor LaMarr Gaines, also known as Ju Working on Projects or Juwop, works in collaboration with Nike on the brand new Game Worn collection. The capsule is comprised of iterations of two iconic silhouettes from the 80s -- the 1982 Nike Sky Force sneaker and the 1985 Nike Vortex shoe. This range is inspired by creatives and the work they implemented to accelerate themselves in America. Each shoe is reworked to look as if it been worn in and broken into.
The Game Worn series is about sharing the artist's personal narrative and using that to serve as an inspiration for Chicago's upcoming youth generation -- to encourage them to explore their creativity and feel free to dream. In terms of the footwear, they are packaged in unique boxes that have paper decorated with cash stacks graphics and finished with custom insoles.
