Artist Lucy McRae created a survival kit that's meant to be carried on the body like a sherpa and provide support for a time that may see resistance against "the age of the algorithm." The Future Survival Kit by the self-proclaimed body architect includes items that would be useful for helping people to adjust to a new world—such as a mask that physically closes people off from the real world. When fully unfolded, the contents of the kit arrange to form the silhouette of a snail.
As McRae describes, "AI, the environment, automation—these themes are destabilising our cosy lives. I'm not suggesting we exit and permanently retreat, I'm just trying to question how we navigate our future."
