Smart Aid Kits

Smart Aid Kit Uses Artificial Intelligence to Support Health

Map Project Office and Modem conceptualized the Smart Aid Kit, an AI-powered diagnostics kit that gives patients the power to support their own health. The smart system includes four sensors based on the designs of a stethoscope, spirometer, ophthalmoscope and a skin scanner in order to diagnose and manage health conditions remotely.

This AI-driven kit has the potential to radically change how people and communities without reliable access to healthcare could perform basic tests on themselves that would otherwise need to be carried out by a healthcare professional.

"Many people, especially in underprivileged areas, lack basic healthcare services, highlighting the need for universal healthcare," Modem co-founder Bas van de Poel told Dezeen, "Recent technological advancements, particularly in AI, present opportunities to address these disparities."
