This romance-inspired advertisement reveals how fun word play can apply to real life situations as well as board games. The board game Scrabble wanted its ad to show a playful side to language and word choice.

This educational board game has been around for many years but this is the first advertisement that has reached out to a younger generation. The ad follows two young people who are unhappy in their daily lives. The commercial uses text to spell out why the two people are unhappy. Each text is an anagram for the other person’s situation.

Eventually the the two individuals meet at a party and realize their names, Agostina and Santiago, are an anagram which. The commercial leaves the viewer feeling happy. It is an adorable and heartwarming commercial shows fun word play through an unconventional form.
