Micaela Lattanzia's new photography/art project brings life to the unique combination of portraits and abstract art. After photographing her subjects, Lattanzia will take pieces of their faces and create shapes and fragmented slices, re-positioning them into an entirely new design.
Her visions have taken her through a methodical process of undetermined destination. The creations seen in these portraits are nontraditional, yet still bring a livelihood to the original photographs. The fragmentation of the work is a common style used by Lattanzia. However, she is incorporating human images into her latest pieces.
Building on the idea of creating, destroying and rebuilding something is a tedious and intimate operation which, Lattanzia is able to share an entirely new perspective of her original images.
Other fragmented works of hers can been seen on her website.
