It appears that this is a time for social media rebranding as the new Foursquare logo is released to the public. Hot on the heels of the controversial Airbnb redesign (it has already garnered many spoofs), the Foursquare logo is much more appropriate, not to mention refreshing. The once childlike typography has been replaced with a bold and bright superhero-inspired symbol that will make the app even more enticing.
Mixing that element with a classic map pin, the company released a statement about their new Foursquare logo, "We’ve always thought of Foursquare as giving you superpowers to explore your city, and our new logo reflects that vision. It’s coming soon to a homescreen near you." Simple and effective, the rebranding is a home run.
